Their best practices were hands-on how-to manuals. It was basically how to use tools to perform specific tasks. They did a really good job of breaking down the entire process of getting their product from the beginning of the customer sign-up process to the installation of the product and troubleshooting if anything went wrong. They also included information about their CRM or Customer Relationship Management system, and how it would benefit the customer, the product, and the vendor.
My contract is up, and I'm looking to start the job hunt, so I figured I'd do a short review of the resources I've read. I bought some ebook samples from Amazon in the hopes that I'd get a better idea of what the vendor publishes, but so far I haven't really found anything I'm interested in purchasing. If there are any other resources that you folks think are better than the samples from Amazon, or if you think that I might like anything from the vendor, please let me know.

The CEU course, Life After The 60 Day Workweek, was a pretty good start, and I think that it's good for newbies to get that much of the information out of the way, before they actually get to the nitty-gritty of their own applications. It's a good overview of what a regular day looks like for someone in the field. The course is broken down into three parts. The first part of the CEU course covers the most common things a person does each day (which is what I was most interested in) -- all of the nuts and bolts of the job. I'd highly recommend that someone take this course first, in order to better understand why you do the things you do, and be able to appreciate the huge daily task-swap that you make between job and personal responsibilities.
The second part of the course covers the broader aspects of your job, and why you do it. It touches on all the other jobs that you have to perform throughout the course of a day, and the variety of different tasks that you do to make your work more efficient, and to make more money.
